Edible Software

To compliment our unique food distributor software, a variety of Edible products and add-on modules enabling mobile inventory, Internet ordering and more are available.

This is Solid Software Solutions’ (SSS) main product - a comprehensive Windows-based inventory control and accounting software package that was coded specifically for the wholesale food distribution industry. It contains unique features that are not available in any regular off-the-shelf accounting software package, such as the ability to: purchase and sell any inventory item by multi-units of measure, apply multiple costs to an inventory item and to either add or change costs even after the product has been sold. Other modules include an inventory re-packing module, a comprehensive but easy to use pricing module, as well as a payables, receivables and general ledger module. To increase efficiency, invoices, purchase orders and reports can be faxed or e-mailed to customers or vendors, but no day-end routines need to be run, since the system is fully date sensitive.

Microsoft has approved Edible Software as an authorized product specially designed for all of their Windows platforms, including Windows XP, and when used correctly, Edible Software is compliant with the FDA’s Bio-Terrorism Act, since it can track an inventory item from the originating vendor to all of the end-user customers and back again, even through a manufacturing process.

In addition to Edible Software, SSS has developed the following optional add-on modules:

Edible Net

Edible Net is an Internet order-entry module that will allow your selected customers to securely access your Web Site and place their orders. Ordering is very quick, easy and intuitive, and upon completion, the orders are automatically transferred to Edible Software where they can be reviewed prior to being automatically transferred into the order entry file.

Edible Mobile

This optional Order-Entry package gives your salespersons the ability to take orders at remote customer locations using laptop computers. The completed orders are easily transferred back to Edible Software where they can be reviewed prior to being automatically accepted as an order.

Edible Handheld PDAs

The following packages all operate on hand-held PDAs (Personal Digital Assistants) that utilize Microsoft’s Pocket PC operating system.

Edible PDA

This optional Order-Entry package allows orders to be taken at remote customer locations using PDAs. Completed orders are easily transferred back to Edible Software where they can again be reviewed prior to being automatically transferred to the order entry file.

Edible Wi-Fi

When used together with the necessary wireless hardware and software, this optional Wireless Order Entry package will give your salespeople the ability to take orders on the sales floor. All data is updated on a real-time basis since the PDA is constantly online with Edible Software.

Edible PI

This optional module allows Physical Inventory counts to be taken in the warehouse using PDAs. Items can be scanned or manually entered into the PDA and no re-keying of data back into Edible Software is necessary.

Edible PaL

This optional module will help ensure that your warehouse personnel pull the correct products and quantities from inventory for each order. In addition, the embedded manufacturer ID in each scanned bar code will assure your compliance with the FDA’s Bio-Terrorism Act.

Edible DSD

This optional module allows each of your trucks to become a rolling warehouse from which inventory can be tracked, received and sold. Remote sales can be made using a PDA, after which the needed inventory is pulled from the truck and the customer invoice printed. All necessary sales and inventory information is easily transferred to and from Edible Software.
