Launch of First Windows Vista-Certified Wholesale Food Accounting Package
What does Microsoft have in common with spinach and squash? Edible Software to Launch First Windows Vista-Certified Wholesale Food Accounting Package at Fresh Summit 2007 October 12-15
HOUSTON, TX – October 2, 2007 – “It’s not easy getting Bill Gates’
blessing when you want to be Vista-certified,” says Henri Morris a Houston CPA
whose industry-specific wholesale food accounting software recently passed
muster with Microsoft.
Edible Software is a Windows-based inventory control, costing, sales and
accounting package coded specifically for the wholesale food distribution
industry.
As president and CEO of Edible Software, Morris says his company will launch a
Vista-compatible version of the software package at the 2007 Fresh Summit Expo
to be held at Houston’s George R. Brown Convention Center October 12-15. “Fresh
Summit is an ideal venue to introduce this new version of our software,” says
Morris. “It will enjoy maximum exposure because this is – hands-down – the
world’s largest gathering of wholesale produce distributors.” More than 17,000
people are expected to attend the international trade show, he says.
Morris says Edible Software is the only wholesale food accounting software
package that has (1) passed Microsoft’s rigorous Vista-compatible third-party
testing, (2) is compliant with the FDA’s Bio-Terrorism Act and (3) has a PDA
hand-held solution especially for warehouse and delivery personnel.” The
conversion process took place over a period of several months, says Morris.
“Microsoft engineers left no stone unturned testing and analyzing our Edible
Software for all Vista requirements.”
Edible Software is compatible with all Windows platforms including Windows XP,
2000 and 98, says Morris. “Every version of our software is compliant with the
FDA’s Bio-Terrorism Act since it tracks inventory items from the original vendor
to the end-user customers and back again – even through the manufacturing
process.”
Edible Software has optional add-on modules, including Edible Net, Edible
Mobile, Edible PDA, Edible Handheld PDA, Edible Wi-Fi, Edible DSD and Edible PaL
(abbreviation for Edible Pick and Load).
Edible PaL is the only known bar-code validation and tracking system for the
produce industry, says Morris, “and it operates on hand-held PDA’s and
automatically verifies that correct products and quantities are picked against
shipping orders. The software stores the originating vendor information with the
customer’s order.” The company supplies a maintenance agreement with each
purchase, which provides free program updates and live 24-hour-a-day support.”
Colorado Foods, Onions Etc., Inc. and Honeycutt Produce are among the food
distribution companies who have recently made the switch to the Vista-compatible
software, says Morris.
