The All-New Edible Net

The all-new Edible Net has launched! Built on Microsoft’s .NET Framework, Edible Net allows your customers to place orders securely over the internet. Placed orders are then automatically uploaded into Edible Software with no re-keying necessary. Some of the new and improved features include:

• Works on multiple web browsers, including Safari and Firefox
• Internet Service Provider (ISP) hosting vs. in-house web server
• Ability to preview the order at any time, including before it is submitted
• User may work on more than one order at a time
• Inventory item's brand and pack size may be displayed/printed
• Customers will receives e-mail confirmation for orders
• User can save the order confirmation in PDF

PTI Leadership Council Determines Unique GTINs are a Requirement for Traceability

A proposal for an alternate path for implementing Global Trade Item Numbers (GTINs), a key component of the Produce Traceability Initiative (PTI), has not garnered wide enough support from the PTI Leadership Council to be adopted. The council also reinforced the need for trading partners to discuss the status of milestones and timelines as soon as possible.

The alternate proposal for implementing GTINs was initiated after members of several PTI working groups raised the difficulties that some industry members are experiencing in implementing case configuration-unique GTINs (unique GTINs) within their companies. Tracking of the GTIN, in combination with a lot number or pack date, as each case moves through the supply chain provides the chain-wide, electronic traceability sought by the PTI.
