HOUSTON, TX – April 23, 2009 – "We've seen a revolution in this business," says Henri Morris, a CPA with ties to the wholesale food accounting software industry since its beginnings. Morris, who is president and CEO of Edible Software, a Houston-based wholesale food accounting and inventory control software company is celebrating thirty years in business.

Edible Software is part of Solid Software, LLC, the original corporate name of Morris' company.

"There's been a revolution in the software industry since I went into business," said Morris. "Software has gone from a package written on a per-person

basis, to software custom designed and installed from the ground up for a specific group of companies."

"This is a niche world," Morris said. "There is less and less relevance for generic accounting software, the kind you typically purchase off the shelf at big box stores and discount centers."

He said this is particularly true in the wholesale food distribution industry. "Wholesale produce, meat, seafood, grocery and beverage distributors deal in rapid inventory turnover, multi-units of measure, multiple costs per item – and often they deal in costs that are determined only after they've sold the item."

Morris said 2009 has been a big year for Edible Software. "We moved into our new company headquarters in the Westchase District and we've added key positions to our staff, as well as a number of new accounting modules, including Edible Scan – software that helps food distributors reduce payroll. It makes invoices instantly retrievable."
